ArmInfo.Azerbaijan does not seek peace and is trying to undermine efforts to achieve it. Armen Khachatryan, member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the ruling faction of the Civil Contract party, told reporters on April 3.
As confirmation of what he said, the parliamentarian pointed to the recent shelling of Armenian positions by units of the Azerbaijani armed forces. However, as the parliamentarian noted, today the situation in the region is not the same as it was before. If in the past Azerbaijan actively used the method of disinformation about the actions of the RA armed forces, now it does not have such an opportunity, since the observer mission timely records and informs about the situation, pointing out, among other things, the inconsistencies of Baku's statements with the situation "on the ground."
The MP emphasized that very soon Armenia will establish an army that will be ready to reliably defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. "Whether Azerbaijan wants it or not, Armenia will come to this," the MP expressed confidence, noting that the day will come when Azerbaijan will think twice before threatening Armenia or starting aggression against it. At the same time, he stated that Armenia does not seek to escalate the conflict, especially now when the military balance is seriously disrupted.
Yesterday, the Azerbaijani armed forces fired at the positions of the Armenian army on several sections of the border. Before that, Baku had accused the Armenian side of accumulating military equipment and personnel on the front line.
