ArmInfo. Armenia's Deputy Foreign Minister Avet Adonts, through the WeChat application, held talks with Ambassador of China to Armenia Tian Erlong. According to the press service of the RA MFA, the interlocutors discussed the situation with a new type of coronavirus in Armenia and China, exchanged information on measures taken by the governments of the two states in this direction.
Mutual satisfaction was expressed with the close cooperation between Armenia and China in the fight against coronavirus.
Adonts expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for providing the RA Ministry of Healthcare with 1008 tests for coronavirus free of charge. The interlocutors also touched upon the extension of the temporary termination of the visa liberalization agreement (March 31 this year) and agreed to be in close contact on this issue, to coordinate the next steps on the part of the two states.
The RA Deputy Minister also expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Chinese side continues to share its experience in combating and preventing a new type of coronavirus. He also pointed out the importance of the establishment by the Chinese side of the online information center for the provision of knowledge on coroanvirus (Knowledge Center for China's Experiences in Response to COVID-19, https://covid19.alliancebrh.com). The parties also discussed issues related to the supply of special medical clothing, masks and apparatus for artificial respirations The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia asked the Chinese side to continue to support the RA in this direction.
In his turn, the Ambassador of China announced China's readiness to provide additional assistance to Armenia by providing special medical clothing and mechanical ventilation devices for a total of 110,000 US dollars. At the same time, the Chinese diplomat stated China's readiness to continue close cooperation with Armenia in resolving various issues related to the fight against coronavirus, emphasizing international unity and solidarity in this matter. It should be noted that to date, 194 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease have been recorded in Armenia. However, only 14 have pneumonia.
