ArmInfo. The military personnel of the Armed Forces of Armenia, who suffered as a result of rocket fire or sabotage attacks by the enemy, will also be able to apply for state benefits. The draft amendments to the law "On Compensation of Damage to the Life or Health of Military Personnel during the Defense of the Republic of Armenia" are discussed at the plenary session of the RA National Assembly on March 3 in the first reading.
According to the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Gabriel Balayan, there are cases when military personnel, not being in combat positions or not having the appropriate order, were hit by an enemy rocket or sabotage sorties by the enemy, were injured, but could not apply for state assistance. From 2008 to this day, there are 9 such beneficiaries, for two of which the issue has not yet been finally resolved. As amended, social justice will be restored. The deputy minister noted that the funds would not be paid from the state budget, but from the Military Insurance Fund, better known as the "1,000 AMD" fund. Balayan noted that there are instructions to study the possibilities of increasing the size of payments to all victims without exception.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, noting the importance of the law, emphasized that large-scale work was to be done in the field. Today's decision is a small but important step towards establishing social justice. "All work must be carried out step by step thinking over and weighing all actions," the head of government emphasized.
