ArmInfo. Former deputy Levon Sargsyan () was arrested by a decision of the Russian court for 40 days. This was announced by Advisor to the RA Prosecutor General Gor Abrahamyan on his Facebook page.
Recall that Sargsyan was discovered and detained in Zelenograd (Moscow region, Russia) on November 21 as a result of large-scale operational-search activities of the RA Police, the representative office of the Armenian Police in Russia and the relevant units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. The issue of his extradition is being decided.
From October 1, 2018, he was wanted in connection with the charges under paragraphs 1-2 of part 3 of article 175 of the RA Criminal Code and part 2 of article 223 of the RA Criminal Code.
As previously reported by the SNB, Sargsyan is the customer of the robbery attack on the house of ex-head of the Customs Committee of Armenia Armen Avetisyan, committed 11 years ago. As a result of searches conducted in 2018 in the mansion and apartment of Sargsyan, weapons and ammunition were discovered.
