ArmInfo. Armenia did not consider it appropriate to participate in the Baku Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement. Anna Naghdalyan, spokeswoman for the Armenian Foreign Ministry, stated this in an interview with ArmInfo correspondent.
She recalled that Armenia has observer status in this Organization. "Armenia is an observer in the Non- Aligned Movement and participation in events of a similar format is considered on the basis of expediency. Participation in the Baku Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement was inappropriate," Naghdalyan emphasized.
To recall that the XVIII Baku Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement member countries will be held on October 25-26, 2019. According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, participation at the Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Baku of heads of state and government from 60 countries has been confirmed. "Armenia has observer status in the Non-Aligned Movement. The Azerbaijani side stated that all countries can participate in this Summit. Until today, Armenia has not announced its intention to participate and has not been registered," said Deputy Foreign Minister Ramiz Hasanov.
