ArmInfo. The Javakhq direction in the policy of the new authorities of Armenia is represented not very clearly. Hayk Sanosyan, a candidate for MP from the ''Christian-National Revival'' party, who is a member of the Javakhq compatriot union, expressed such an opinion in an interview with ArmInfo correspondent.
According to him, this is exactly what prompted him to run for MPs so that, like in past years, being represented in parliament, he could be more confident in raising and solving the problems of the Javakhq Armenians. When asked why he decided not to run for the ruling bloc, since traditionally the ruling forces included representatives of Javakhq in their lists to keep the focus of attention on the problems of this Armenian-populated region, Sanosyan noted that the new authorities of Armenia do not yet have a clear line action in the direction of Javakhq. "And then, today everyone is striving for a proportional list of the ruling bloc, I think this is wrong, it will very soon lead to dictatorship. Our strength, if passed to parliament, will try to become an alternative", Sanosyan said.
At the same time, he expressed dissatisfaction with the policy of the former authorities on the problems of Javakhq. Recalling that in the parliaments of past convocations he was a deputy from the RPA, Sanosyan stressed that their paths diverged due to the divergence of views on the problems that concern Armenians of Javakhq and their solutions. "However, my mandate gave me the opportunity to resolve many issues of relevance to the region. For example, thanks to my efforts, the Georgian government began to allocate more funds from the budget to the region. A program to gasify Javakhq was also implemented," the candidate said.
Regarding the current problems of the region, Sanosyan referred to the issue of the integration of Javakhq inhabitants and the region as a whole into the public life of Georgia. "The main problem on this path is the language barrier: 99% of the population of Javakhq do not speak Georgian. To solve this problem, even when I was a deputy, I raised the issue of creating a joint Armenian-Georgian university in Javakhq. "And if I am elected to the MPs, I intend to promote him", Sanosyan said.
In response to the question of whether he was satisfied with the current Armenian authorities' policy in the Javakhq direction, the MPcandidate stressed that it was too early to talk about this, since only one visit of Acting RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Georgia and the region took place. "However, I want to note that traditionally only official efforts were not enough to solve the problems of Armenians of Javakhq, very many issues were resolved through public diplomacy. Therefore, I consider important the representation of representatives of the Javakhq union in the new parliament of Armenia", Sanosyan concluded.
