ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke about the position of Yerevan in the context of cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union and the CIS.
Thus, during the live broadcast on his Facebook page, Pashinyan noted that he participated for the first time in a meeting of the heads of state of the CIS member states, which took place September 27-28 in Dushanbe, and in May in Sochi at a meeting of the heads of the EEU countries. At the same time, he added that he wanted to share his impressions of this summit with a slight backward glance. "When, for the first time, I found myself in the atmosphere of a meeting of the heads of states of the EEU, then honestly, a shocking picture opened up for me. I saw what passionate debates were held behind closed doors, which just shook me. I want to say that the format of the CIS and the EEU is interesting from the point of view that these are the places where you can really voice issues, raise them and debate. There is a wide field for discussion, on the basis of which you can achieve solutions to various problems, "said Pashinyan, adding one of colleagues suggested some parts about judgments behind closed doors do open to the general public to dispel the stereotype of the discussions, the inherent "politburo" at these sites.
The Armenian Prime Minister did not want to give assessments, but noted that in fact there are "hot" debates on both platforms, and not so that everyone agrees with everyone and in everything, and there is an opportunity to fully protect national interests within these formats. At the same time, he assured the Armenian public that Armenia and the CIS and the EAEU have all the opportunities to protect national sovereignty and state interests
