In the framework of his visit to New York, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed prospects and possible directions for the development of Armenian-American relations with US high-ranking officials. The Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan himself stated this during a live broadcast on his Facebook page, summing up the results of his visit to New York.
"During my visit to New York, I had short contacts with US President Donald Trump, with Vice President Mike Pence, with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. These were short informal meetings, the main topic of which was the prospects and possible directions for the development of Armenian-American relations" , - he noted. At the same time, the prime minister added that he had a short meeting with the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, and a colleague from Georgia, Mamuka Baktatdze. In this context, he recalled that Bakhtadze was in Yerevan not so long ago, and specific agreements were reached during his visit. Pashinyan stressed that effective cooperation was established with the Georgian counterpart, and thanks to concrete agreements, it became possible to find an interim solution regarding the prohibition of the transit of wheat through Georgia by truck. According to the head of the government, this issue was extremely important for Armenia.
"A wide range of meetings took place, about which official statements were circulated," the Armenian premier concluded.
