ArmInfo.The Special Investigation Service of Armenia (SIS) will publish on its website some materials on the events of March 1, 2008. This was announced by the Head of the Service Sasun Khachatryan on June 28 before the session of the government.
According to him, the materials to be published will be limited in content so as not to disrupt the natural process of investigative activities. Sasun Khachatryan assured that his department has enough political will to disclose the case on the tragic events occured 10 years ago. At the same time, answering the journalists' questions, he did not rule out the possibility of attracting Robert Kocharyan as the witness. "There are no obstacles in the issue of calling any person for interrogation, regardless of his/her position or rank," the Head of the SIS said.
To recall, on June 15 the Special Investigation Service called on citizens to report information that could shed light on the events of March 1, 2008. AT the same time the SIS, noted that the citizens who reported information will be in case of need under the protection of the investigative body. On March 1, during mass protests following the presidential elections of 2008, in which Serzh Sargsyan won the victory, there was a clash between the law enforcement bodies and the participants of the rallies. As a result, 10 people died. The current Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also actively participated in the opposition's actions, who initiated the resumption of the case on March 1 events.
