ArmInfo.Mayor of the Armenian capital Taron Margaryan in connection with the situation connected with the "intrusion into the building of Yerevan municipality" held a telephone conversation with the head of the Armenian Police Valery Osipyan
As the press service of the mayor's office informs, the chief of police informed that explanatory works with protesters are conducted in connection with the incident. Recall that this morning a group of protesters near the building of the Yerevan City Hall resumed protests demanding the resignation of the mayor Taron Margaryan. They also demanded an explanation about the cutting down of trees in the park near the monument to Alexander Myasnikian, accusing the capital city administration of cutting healthy trees in the center of Yerevan under the guise of improvement. Further, the protesters crossed the turnstile in the building of the Moscow mayor's office and entered inside, despite the opposition of the guards. They demand the resignation of the mayor of Taron Margaryan, a member of the Republican Party of Armenia. Then the mayor's administration appealed to the police, demanding "to take measures to stop illegal activities." It should be noted that the deputy of the faction "Elk", the representative of the "Civil Contract" party, member of the Council of Elders of Yerevan Alen Simonyan arrived in the place of the protest, demanded that he be allowed to the mayor. Returning in a few minutes to the protesters, he said that Taron Margaryan is not in his office.
