The High Representative of the EU on Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Deputy Chairman of the European Commission Federica Mogherini spoke on the phone with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashian and congratulated him on his election.
As noted in the message of the EU, the interlocutors noted the importance of the partnership between the European Union and Armenia, stressing that they are looking forward to a personal meeting. The head of European diplomacy invited the Prime Minister to visit Brussels at the earliest opportunity.
Magerini and Pashinyan also discussed issues related to the formation of the new government and its further steps. They also touched upon the possibilities of strengthening the ties between the EU and Armenia.
The parties briefly discussed foreign policy priorities, including the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, whose peaceful settlement, as Magerini confirmed, remains a top priority for the European Union.
