ArmInfo. According to First Vice Speaker of the Azeri Parliament Ziyafat Askerov, since 1992 negotiations are underway for a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group, Azerbaijan insists on preserving its territorial integrity, Armenia defends the interests of the unrecognized Artsakh Republic, since Artsakh is not a party to the talks.
"Efforts by the OSCE Minsk Group to resolve the Karabakh conflict do not yield results, as there is no desire to achieve them," Askerov said at the second session of the 15th meeting of the EU-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee. According to him, the Minsk Group does nothing to resolve the conflict.
"The co-chairs only visit Azerbaijan and Armenia, but to no avail," the vice-speaker said. Askerov believes that the solution to the Karabakh conflict should be approached from the point of view of international law.
