ArmInfo. Within the framework of the criminal case based on former member of Artsakh Parliament, Artsakh war veteran Vahan Badasyan's accusations against the Armenian Armed Forces, Vahan Badasyan was invited to the Investigative Committee of Armenia to give testimony.
Badasyan has told ArmInfo that he cannot tell the details, however, he stressed that he has given specific names of the corrupt officials and those who abuse office, and also specified the facts of embezzlement in the army.
Badasyan gave the testimony in the written form. He thinks the Investigative Committee is interested in disclosure of the crimes. He learned during the five-hour interrogation that the Investigative Committee also holds specific facts about the violations.
To note, in his latest interviews, Badasyan urged Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan to survey the activities of Chief of the Armenian Armed Forces General Staff, Lt.-Gen. Movses Hakobyan, who previously was the defense minister of Artsakh. "When the Chief of the Armenian Armed Forces General Staff was the head of the logistical support department at the Armenian Defense Ministry, he abused his office and violated the law on procurement, having signed a procurement contract between his own company and the Defense Ministry of Armenia at much higher prices. As a result, dozens of millions of AMD of the army were misappropriated," Badasyan wrote on his Facebook page. Badasyan urged the law enforcers either to bring him to responsibility for slander or to hold Lt.-Gen. Hakobyan accountable for office abuse and corruption.
The Defense Minister refuted Badasyan's accusations, but the Prosecutor General's Office submitted to the Investigative Committee the media reports regarding ex-MP of Artsakh, Artsakh war veteran Vahan Badasyan's accusations about the fraud in the field of supplies to the Armenian Armed Forces.
