ArmInfo. The stands of Armenia and Russia on the Karabakh problem fully coincide, Konstantin Kosachev, Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, said in Yerevan, during the meeting of the Armenian National Assembly's Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and the Russian Federation Council's Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Moscow and Yerevan are unanimous that a political solution to the Karabakh conflict should be found, preventing any military contacts, he said, noting that in this matter the stands of Armenia and Russia fully coincide. "Russia followed the April escalation around Nagorno-Karabakh with big concern," Kosachev added.
He pointed out that the Armenian and Russian parliamentarians had a sincere talk about the regional security in the South Caucasus and the Karabakh peace process. "This is a very sensitive topic. The most important thing is not to disturb the process. But I am sure our parliaments can do much more to ensure a political nature of the discussions," Kosachev said. He stressed that Russia and Armenia fully understand each other's interests and concerns and can support each other.
