ArmInfo. Secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia Yuri Khachaturov has addressed the conference on issues of information security of the CSTO countries through use of new information technologies on Yerevan on October 15.
Making a point of the development of information technologies in Armenia, Yuri Khachaturov said the event was initiated by President Serzh Sargsyan as part of Armenia's chairmanship of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. "The IT-sector dynamically develops in Armenia and keeps pace with the time. Speaking on the IT-sector, one should not forget about information security and specifically the cyber security. Ensuring cyber security is a very big problem not only for separate countries, but also for the entire world community," Khachaturov said.
He hailed the coordinated interaction of the CSTO countries in the field of information security and the fight against cyber threats.
CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha was to address the conference, but he was not present and his assistant Ara Badalyan read out Bordyuzha's welcoming speech.
The event was held on sidelines of ArmHiTech-2016 First International Exhibition of Arms and Defense Technologiesthat is held in the Republic of Armenia from 13 to 15 October 2016. The exhibition has brought together 50 companies from 9 countries.
