ArmInfo. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan did not agree Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan's candidacy with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Russian President's Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov says, when commenting on the rumors circulating in the media.
Peskov notes that Putin has no influence on the domestic policy of Armenia. "This is absurd," he says, noting that Russia does not like anyone to interfere with its domestic affairs. At the same time, Russia is doing nothing that could be interpreted as Russia's interference with the domestic affairs of other countries, especially its closest partners, including Armenia, he said.
To note, following the appointment of Deputy Director General of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Karen Karapetyan as Prime Minister of Armenia, the media outlets started reporting that he is the Kremlin's envoy. Karapetyan himself said that he takes such rumors ironically.
