Director of Russia-based Institute for New States Aleksey Martinov says that he was proud to see Russian 'Iskander" systems on the military parade held in Yerevan on occasion of the 25th anniversary of Armenia's independence. He made the remark on the sidelines of the roundtable on the topic "Transcaucasia in integration projects: EEU-EU for or against?" held in Yerevan on September 26. At the same time the expert noted that he understands that weapon is a bad thing, and if it exists it will certainly fire one day. At the same time the expert noted that in this case the Russian systems are restraining factor of further violence in the region.
To note, Iskander mobile short-range ballistic missile systems and Smerch heavy multiple rocket launchers have been demonstrated for the first time during the military parade on occasion of the 25th independence anniversary of Armenia. Military experts stated that they consider that Iskander is a restriction factor in the zone of Karabakh conflict.
