ArmInfo. Two employees of the Antifake information resource - journalist David Fidanyan and cameraman Ishkhan Kotolyan - were detained on April 15 early in the morning, lawyer Ruben Melikyan reported on his Facebook account.
"According to my preliminary information, the arrest was made at approximately 07:30. The basis for the arrest was a violation of the rules for using public places. Now we are waiting for the submission of a protocol on the violation, that is, the imposition of an administrative fine. Both representatives of the resource have already been released. According to my information, the reason "The reason for the arrest was the placement of leaflets related to the illegal criminal prosecution of political prisoners Narek Samsonyan and Vazgen Saghatelyan," the lawyer said.
He also noted that if human rights were respected in Armenia, there would be no political prisoners in the country. "We are all witnesses to what the office of the Human Rights Defender is doing. The head of the office (Anait Manasyan - ed.) has never been brave, and how can this person take this step if he was appointed by the ruling Civil Contract party" ", the human rights activist noted, expressing doubts about the Ombudsman's reaction to yet another fact of detention of activists.
Earlier, the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia issued a report according to which opposition bloggers Narek Samsonyan and Vazgen Saghatelyan were detained because of curse words addressed to government members on the air of the podcast "Imnemnimi". Later, the court decided to arrest both for 2 months.
