ArmInfo. Armenia did not apply to the CSTO for help. Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharian said this in an interview with Armenian journalists in Minsk, referring to the question of whether Yerevan is disappointed with the CSTO's reaction to the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
Kocharyan, in particular, emphasized: <The CSTO charter has a corresponding article - when an attack occurs, a CSTO member country can ask for help. Armenia did not seek help. Our goal was completely different - to inform our partners about the situation. Obviously, if a provocation was carried out on the borders of Armenia, our partners should be informed about this. Therefore, I am somewhat surprised by the fact that some people had some expectations on this issue>, the Deputy Minister stressed.
The Deputy Minister also stressed that the CSTO called on the parties to de-escalate the situation. The organization warned that if the tension does not ease and the Armenian side seeks help, they will have to intervene>, Kocharyan stressed.
