ArmInfo. Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani said that Tbilisi is actively monitoring the ongoing process on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
According to Zalkaliani, it is necessary that the sides return to the situation that existed before July 14, before the start of hostilities.
<I am in close communication with my fellow ministers. I had telephone conversations with both ministers and I expressed our sincere attitude and concern about the situation. They know our position - we are in no way interested in further escalation of the situation, on the contrary, it is necessary that the parties return to the situation that existed before July 14, before the start of hostilities, "Zalkaliani said.
However, according to Zalkaliani, one should take into account the fact that the conflict for the first time went beyond the geography of Nagorno-Karabakh and is currently located on the territory in close proximity to the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
<Therefore, even more prudence and caution are required. More active involvement of the international community in this process is necessary, first of all, the activation of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and the involvement of all those international mechanisms that are the basis and foundation of the settlement of this conflict.
Hostilities and international negotiations should stop immediately, mechanisms should be given the opportunity to lead the process towards de-escalation and a peace agreement, "said David Zalkaliani, Georgia-online reports.
