ArmInfo. Former US permanent  representative to the UN, member of the Selection Committee of the  Aurora Award Samantha Power visited the memorial complex of the  victims of the Armenian Genocide Tsitsernakaberd and paid tribute to  the memory of innocent victims.

ArmInfo.Today, the Aurora  Humanitarian Initiative announces Former United States Ambassador to  the United Nations Samantha Power as the newest member of the Aurora  Prize for Awakening Humanity Selection Committee.  As a part of the  Selection Committee, Ambassador Power will join the other esteemed  humanitarians, human rights activists and former heads of state to  determine future recipients for the annual $1.1 million Aurora Prize.

ArmInfo.Aurora humanitarian initiative is pleased to announce that Bernard Kouchner,  one of the founders of Medecins Sans Frontieres, joined the Selection  Committee of the Aurora Prize. The Selection Committee, which  identifies the names of the finalists and laureate of the Aurora  Prize each year, includes humanitarian figures, human rights  activists and former heads of state, and is headed by its Academy  Award-winning actor, director and philanthropist George Clooney.

ArmInfo.The RA parliamentary  delegation led by the chairman of the permanent commission on foreign  relations of the National Assembly Armen Ashotyan will be in  Stockholm from November 13 to 15, and in Helsinki from November 15 to  November 17 to meet with representatives of the parliaments of the  Kingdom of Sweden and Finland.

ArmInfo.The Armenian-Iranian film "Eva" will qualify for the award in the nomination "The best film in a foreign language" from Armenia. As ArmInfo was informwed in the National Film Academy of Armenia, the film was included in the long list of foreign  films from 92 countries that put forward their films for  consideration. Recall that the film "Eva" of the Iranian director  Anahit Abad is a joint product of Iran and Armenia. It is filmed in  Armenian.

ArmInfo.A new documentary movie  by American director David Lee Jones on the Armenian Genocide, called  Architects of Denial, passed a qualifying selection of  applicants for participation in the American film award Oscar.

ArmInfo.In Los-Angeles' cinema TCL Chinese Theatre the premiere of the film "The Promise" of Terry George about Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire took place. Terry George was awarded an Oscar for the "Hotel Rwanda", telling about the Tutsi genocide.

U.S. Representatives David Trott (R-MI) and Adam Schiff (D-CA) joined with their Congressional Armenian Caucus colleagues in introducing a bipartisan  anti-genocide resolution calling on the United States to apply the  lessons of the Armenian Genocide in seeking to prevent modern day  atrocities across the Middle East, reported the Armenian National  Committee of America (ANCA).
