Armenian Ombudsperson's Office representatives have visited the citizens detained from Khorenatsi Street where the people rallied in support of the armed loyalists of the jailed oppositionist Jirayr Sefilyan that seized the Police Patrol Service Regime on July 17 demanding Sefilyan's release and resignation of the president.
According to the Ombudsperson's Office, there were 7 detainees who did not express any complaints against police officers to the human rights defenders.
"At the same time, they said they were detained without any reasons. At the moment, there are no detainees at the Central Police Office," the source reported.
Earlier, Armenia's Police made a statement saying all the citizens detained during the unsanctioned rallies on July 26-27 have been set free, except several citizens who will be set free after giving testimonies to the Investigative Committee.
