The United States and Israel put their interests above human values, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said in an interview with "Pozner" TV program in response to the question what holds such countries as the U.S. and Israel from recognizing the Armenian Genocide.
"I understand, but can't take it," he said. "They act in their national interests and try not to offend Turkey." The president recalled that as congressman Obama advocated for recognition of the Armenian Genocide. The same did Israel President Reuven Rivlin as parliamentarian. "Becoming presidents, they have changed their language," Serzh Sargsyan said. He recalled that 44 States of America have recognized the Armenian Genocide. He highlighted that impunity generates new crimes.
