During a meeting with UK Secretary of State for Culture Mr. John Wittingdale, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian thanked him for visiting Yerevan to attend the April 24 events commemorating the Armenian Genocide Centenary.
The press office of the Armenian Foreign Ministry has told ArmInfo that during the September 10 meeting, the sides touched on possible expansion of the Armenian-British cooperation in culture. They stressed the importance of presentation of the Armenian cultural heritage in the United Kingdom and discussed the joint projects in this area. Nalbandian also visited the British Parliament to meet with members of the British House of Lords Caroline Cox and Henry Harrison. The meeting covered issues related to Armenian-British parliamentary cooperation, formation of a new Armenia-UK multiparty parliamentary friendship group.
The Armenian foreign minister also met with the members of the Commission coordinating the Armenian Genocide Centenary events in the UK. They discussed the preparations for the ecumenical service to be held at Westminster Abbey in October 2015. The service will commemorate the Armenian Genocide Centenary.
