Director of the Armenian Institute for International Security Stepan Safaryan is sure it is not in favor of the authorities to use force against the protesters on Baghramyan Ave, as it may trigger even higher discontent and criticism of the international organizations.
The expert said the authorities and the "No To Plunder!" movement members have established "an interesting mutual confidence," as the protesters did not want to transform their social protest into a political one. The authorities took advantage of the situation and blame the Electric Networks of Armenia for the situation.
Safaryan believes the decision to conduct an audit of ENA is a retreat, but not a solution to the problem. "Those who left to the Liberty Square have realized that, while those who have remained on Baghramyan Avne are afraid of being conceived and demand an immediate and final solution to the issue," Safaryan said.
