All those who think Russia is interested in the tension among the three parties to the Karabakh conflict should "disappoint" Russia with mutual concessions, the former co-chair of the OSCE MG, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Diplomats' Association, Vladimir Kazimirov, has told ArmInfo.
To note, the lack of efficient measures allows the actors concerned to state that Moscow is interested in maintaining tension on the borders.
"They are used to blaming Moscow as if it provoked a series of conflicts in the post-Soviet space. They simply forget that the mass bloodshed in the Karabakh conflict and in all other post-Soviet conflicts has been stopped through the mediation of Russia. If some forces think Moscow is interested in the tension among the three parties to the Karabakh conflict, you "disappoint" Russia with mutual concessions and agreement to settle the conflict. First of all, it depends on the parties themselves," says the diplomat.
Kazimirov points out that Russia does not hide its true interest in maintaining and developing kind and fruitful relations with both Armenians and Azerbaijanis, which is also proved by multiform ties with the two states and the presence of two big diasporas in Russia.
"If anyone is doubts the status of Russia as an OSCE Minsk Group co-chair, let them answer the question: who has done more for the Karabakh conflict settlement than Moscow?" he says.
