Prime Minister of Artsakh Ara Haroutiunyan says no customs point may be opened on the border with Armenia after Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union. The prime minister made such statement talking to students in Stepanakert, Thursday.
Haroutiunyan said many confuse the customs point and the checkpoint. "Meanwhile, a checkpoint controls passenger and freight transportation, while a customs point implies deployment of frontier guards. There are dozens of roads linking Armenia and NKR where border control is impossible technically," he said.
The prime minister said Artsakh's economy is dynamically developing and economic growth was registered despite the agricultural decline, due to the industrial, energy and construction sectors.
"We will ensure 8%-10% GDP growth by the end of the year," he said. Haroutiunyan added that the budget for 2015 will amount about 87 billion drams, with pension, social programs and salaries accounting for 59 bln drams of the total.
