 ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank and Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union, one of largest environment associations in Germany, have signed a cooperation agreement. The agreement implies joint measures aimed at protection of environment. The Bank's press service has told ArmInfo that the agreement will create favorable conditions for eco-tourism development in Armenia. 

The cooperation includes environmental programs and measures aimed at: organizing and holding events to enhance public awareness of environmental problems; helping the small and medium-sized enterprises producing ecologically friendly products to certify their products; supporting the farm enterprises and boosting eco-tourism in Armenia.     

Founded in 1899, NABU (Nature And Biodiversity Conservation Union), is one of the oldest and largest environment associations in Germany. The association encompasses more than 520,000 members and sponsors, who commit themselves to the conservation of threatened habitats, flora and fauna, to climate protection and energy policy. About 37,000 volunteers play an active role in practical nature conservation work.

"ACBA Credit Agricole Bank" CJSC has been operating in Armenia since 1995. Since September 2006, the majority shareholder of the Bank has been Credit Agricole S.A. with a 15.56% stake.  Another major shareholder, SJSC "Sacam International" (member of Credit Agricole S.A.), has a 12.44% stake.
