 UCom CEO Hayk Yesayan had a meeting today at National Polytechnic University Of Armenia with the university's professors and students.  During the meeting on the subject of "Current state of telecommunication technologies and development trends in Armenia", Ucom CEO presented the market trends and told what to expect in the industry a few years from now.

According to him development of telecommunication technologies in Armenia is on quite high level.  "Several serious companies operate on the Armenian market of telecommunications with quite high level of network coverage on the territory of the country both by mobile and fixed and fiber optic network.  Currently our capacities do not yield to European ones. Yerevan is the first capital in the world, which is fully covered with fiber-optic network", he noted. 

At the same time Yesayan is assured that nowadays trends demand from the network operators immediate response. The practice demonstrates that 4% of GDP of the country is directed to telecommunications field. "The world sees itself in convergent services in 2020. Any company, which will not be able to work on more innovative technologies and undergo transformation continuing ordinary "sale of communications" will leave the market in 3-5 years," said Hayk Yesayan.  In a conversation with students Yesayan informed that it is planned to sign a memorandum on cooperation with the University in the nearest future. The memorandum will aim at assisting the students, their practice and further employment. "We have lack of qualified specialists. The students will receive opportunity to undertake an internship in our company after which the best of them will be offered job", UCom CEO informed. Within the memorandum it is planned to equip one of the university's classrooms naming it "UCom". 

To note, Ucom LLC was founded in 2007. It is one of the rapidly developing companies in Armenia. Ucom has built the biggest new generation fiber-optic network in Armenia, which gives an opportunity to provide at least three services: Internet, television and fixed- line telephony. As of June 2015, the company has more than 100,000 subscribers. On August 20 2015, by the decision of the Public Services Regulatory Committee of Armenia approved the sale of 100% of Orange Armenia's stake to Ucom Company.
