On Feb 12, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visited the National Security Service (NSS).
ArmInfo's correspondent reports that NSS Head Gorik Hakobyan met Serzh Sargsyan at the entrance of the building. The reasons of the President's visit are not clear. It should be noted, however, that Gorik Hakobyan's term in office expired on Feb 11.
According to the Armenian Constitution, the NSS head cannot be above 70. However, ArmInfo's sources say that Hakobyan is unlikely to leave the structure. A special "vacancy" will be opened for him - Armenian President's Representative in the National Security Service. Deputy Prosecutor General of Armenia Georgy Kutoyan will become the new NSS head.
