Bodies of the five Armenian pilots killed in a cargo plane crash in South Sudan earlier this month were delivered to Yerevan on November 12 in the evening. The bodies were delivered from Juba to Yerevan via Khartum. The body of the Russian pilot will be delivered to Moscow by the same charter flight.
There were 12 passengers and 6 crew members, from which 5 Armenians and 1 Russian, on board of the cargo plane that crashed shortly after takeoff in South Sudan's capital, Juba, South Sudan on November 4.
According to preliminary data, at least 40 people had been killed. The crashed An-12 belonged to Allied Services Limited, a logistics company based in South Sudan. The ForeignMinistry of Arenia has published the names of the killed Armenian pilots: commander Gevorg Tovmasyan, second pilot Samvel Hambardzoumyan, onboard engineer Samvel Mkrtchyan, airmen Armen Antonyan and Suren Petrosyan.
