Residents of the Syunik region will sure vote for the Constitutional amendments on December 6, Syunik Governor Surik Khachatryan told reporters on Nov 28.
According to the governor, “the run-up to referendum in Syunik is a success. Come and see,” Surik Khachatryan said. In his words, the people in the region do not trust in the opposition. To prove his words, the governor said that no one met with the representatives of the New Armenia Front of public salvation when they arrived in Syunik.
To recall, the constitutional referendum in Armenia is scheduled for December 6. The campaign headquarters of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia is headed by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, while the heads of the headquarters of the "No!" Front and the New Armenia Front are Levon Zurabyan and Zhirayr Sefilyan, respectively. The latter announced a decision to launch the process of power shift on December 1. "If the authorities try to use force, they will get an adequate response," Sefilyan said.
