State Department welcomed Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan's statement on the 1915 events.
"I do. We welcome Prime Minister Erdogan's historic public acknowledgment of the suffering that Armenians experienced in 1915. We believe this is a positive indication that there can be a full, frank, and just acknowledgment of the facts, which we hope will advance the cause of reconciliation between Turks and Armenians, Jen Psaki said during a briefing on Wednesday.
Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan made first in the history message addressing Armenians on the "events of 1915". Erdogan made a statement on 12 languages including the eastern Armenian and western Armenian ones. However, Ankara still goes on denying the fact of the Armenian genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
