National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia has addressed Artsakh war hero Zhirayr Sefilyan's armed loyalists calling themselves "Sasna Tsrer" (The Daredevils of Sasun), who seized the building of the Patrol-Guard Service Regiment in Erebuni district of Yerevan on July 17 and took hostages that were released later.
The NSS recalls that the armed group will face up to 15 years in prison for armed seizure of the police station under Article 218 of the Criminal Code (hostage taking), article 219 - seizure of building, transport, and Article 235 - illegal arms traffic.
At the same time, under Armenian laws, the person that abandons his demands, puts down arms, sets free hostages and returns what he has seized is exempted from criminal liability, if his actions pose no more threats and contain no more crimes. Considering the abovementioned, the NSS calls on "Daredevils of Sasoun" to display their reasonableness, put down arms and surrender. "You still have time to do it!" the NSS says in the address.
The National Security Service urges the members of the armed group to leave the seized area holding their arms above their heads, turn to the right and walk 50 meters along the nearby store, put down all their arms and ammunition and approach the police officers one after another.
