The France-Karabakh Circle of Friendship is perplexed by the lack of Paris' official reaction to Baku's explicit threats against Marlene Mourier, Mayor of Bourg- les-Valence, member of the France-Karabakh Circle of Friendship.
"We shouldn't deceive ourselves," President of the France-Karabakh Circle of Friendship, Francois Rochebloine says, noting that under the guise of legalism, Baku seeks to establish its terrorist regime in France, intimidating and threatening those who displease Azerbaijan.
Francois Rochebloine recalls that on April 22 Marlene Mourier received a letter from the embassy of Azerbaijan in France. Through the letter, the Embassy of Azerbaijan made an attempt to prohibit French lawmakers from visiting Nagorno-Karabakh, and demanded canceling the Friendship and Cooperation Charter signed between Bourg les-Valence (France) and Shushi (Karabakh).
"This is not the first and the only case, nevertheless, it's the most serious case. A few days ago, a German comedian was being prosecuted for joking at the President of Turkey. Now, Azerbaijan threatens the French politician. Where are we going? Until when are we going to tolerate the criminal dictators wiping their feet on the European democracy," Rochebloine say.
The France-Karabakh Circle of Friendship stresses that it will contact the structures and ministers concerned to give a proper response to the gross interference of "the most autocratic regime in the world" in the domestic affairs of France. Earlier, when commenting on the friendship between Bourg les-Valence (France) and Shushi (Karabakh), Harlem Desir, French Secretary of State for European Affairs, stressed in Baku that each municipality in France independently decides with whom and in what format to cooperate.
