The European Heritage Days have already formed tradition in Armenia celebrating every year all over the country, which coordination is undertaken by Ministry of Culture of RA and South Caucasus Railway. This year it will be held on 27-28 September with the theme "Looking back 100 years after" and all the events which will be organized are dedicated to World War I 100th anniversary.
During these two days numerous historical-cultural monuments and museums will host people with festive mood and notable events, all visitors will have access free of charge. Governmental and private museums in the republic will present their rich variety of events to the Armenian society (exhibitions, concerts, lectures). Monuments, which are usually closed to the public, will hold Open Door Days (Opera theater building, French Embassy building, Blue Mosque and other governmental buildings).
On September 27 an exhibition will be held in 3 stations of Yerevan subway (Barekamutyun, Yeritasardakan, Hanrapetutyan Hraparak) where we will present the photos of Ejmiatsin museum's collections, photos of those people who lived World War I and Armenian carpet weaving art, as well as a program will be launched in the framework of which people will send photos, biographies and stories of people who have survived in World War 1 to the Facebook page of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia.
