"Armenia must withdraw its troops from the Nagorno- Karabakh region," Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said in St. Petersburg, APA reports. Noting the inadmissibility of the status quo in Nagorno-Karabakh, President Aliyev said that there is still some hope that it will be possible to add constructive dynamics to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Aliyev also expressed his gratitude to the President of Russia for initiating a trilateral meeting of the Russian, Azerbaijani and Armenian Presidents, as well as for Russia's constructive role in the Karabakh settlement process.
To note, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan told reporters that he expects Azerbaijan to implement its obligations under the arrangement reached in Vienna. Sargsyan also expressed hope that there will be no ceasefire violations on the line of contact and they will continue the Karabakh peace process in a positive course.
Earlier, Russian President's Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the key goal of the talks of the Russian, Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents is to insure the parties against resumption of hostilities in Karabakh.
