The mass violence that is being applied against Yazidis in the north of Iraq because of their ethnic and religious identity is unacceptable, Vice Speaker of Armenian Parliament Eduard Sharmazanov said during a meeting with members of the National Union of Yazidis.
He said that this problem is a top priority for Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and the ruling Republican Party. "Armenia is ready to help the friendly Yazidi people as much as it can," Sharmazanov said. President of the Union Aziz Tamoyan thanked the Armenian authorities for their support and asked them to draw the world community's attention towards the problem of Iraqi Yazidis.
Sharmazanov said that he is ready to raise this issue from parliamentary tribunes.
