U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry held a phone call with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on May 9, the Russian Foreign Ministry press-office said, adding the phone call took place on the initiative of the United States.
The sides discussed among others the Karabakh conflict and possible steps by the OSCE Minsk Group at the current stage.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry that measures must be taken to stop "extremists" in Syria being supplied via Turkish territory, the Russian foreign ministry said.
Lavrov and Kerry stressed the need for the Syrian government to continue talks with the whole spectrum of the opposition.
