The territories the Armenian side lost in April were mostly part of the buffer zone around Nagorno Karabakh. David Babayan, Spokesperson for the NKR President, told ArmInfo when commenting on Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan's statement that "the lost 800 ha were part of Artsakh's territory"
In response to ArmInfo question as to whether those territories were within the administrative borders of NKR, Babayan said: "Most of the lost territories, I repeat, most of them, not all, were in the buffer zone."
Talking to journalists on Monday, Minister Seyran Ohanyan said: "The Armenian side has nothing to hide. Troops transfer did happen. Such troops transfers happen during the military actions, however, the Defense Army of Artsakh carried out its tasks," Ohanyan said, actually without denying the information that the specified 800 hectares were actually part of Karabakh. "I think the talks on the Karabakh settlement will cover the issue of these territories as well. We cannot forget these territories," the minister said.
To note, earlier in one of his interviews, ex-foreign minister of Artsakh Arman Melikyan said that the lost territories were mostly in the administrative structure of Artsakh, not in the buffer zone.
