Baku has reacted to OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Foreign Minister of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier's meeting with NKR President Bako Sahakyan.
Hikmat Hajiyev, Spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Trend on June 30 that the specified meeting was "a part of his meeting with the Armenian community of the region".
He added that Steinmeier will meet with representatives of "the Azerbaijani community of the Nagorno- Karabakh region" as well during his visit to Baku June 30.
Hajiyev noted that within the framework of his visit Steinmeier will also get familiar with the settlement built for IDPs.
To note, on June 30 NKR President Bako Sahakyan met with OSCE CiO, German Foreign Minister Frank- Walter Steinmeier in Yerevan. The meeting covered issues related to the Karabakh peace process and other regional processes. President Sahakyan reaffirmed Stepanakert's commitment to the peaceful settlement of the conflict under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group. He stressed the need to restore the format of negotiations with full participation of Karabakh.
He also pointed out the significance of developing and introducing investigative mechanisms in the Karabakh conflict zone, which would contribute to peace and stability in the region and would have a positive effect on the future course of the peace process.
