Despite the media reports, the new Consolidation Party (Hamakhmbum) has nothing to do with the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, Vartan Oskanian, the founder of the party, ex-foreign minister of Armenia, told reporters. He stressed that the party will run in the parliamentary elections in 2017. The ex-minister considers these elections crucial for Armenia. Oskanian thinks that it will be very hard for the political forces to succeed separately. Therefore, he urges the like-minded parties to join efforts. "We also call on people to join efforts. This cannot go on forever," he said. At the same time, the ex-minister said that his party is not going to demand President Serzh Sargsyan's resignation.
