The UK would not like Simferopol-Yerevan flights to be launched, UK Ambassador to Armenia Katherine Leach said on Wednesday when commenting on possible launch of a direct flight from Armenia to Crimea. The UK does not want legitimization of the Crimean authorities, she said.
For his part, German Ambassador to Armenia Reiner Morell stressed the need to study the Crimean situation once again and to find a solution, from which all parties would benefit.
To note, the General Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia has already reported that Grozny-Avia (Russia) company's application for launching direct flights from Simferopol to Yerevan has been rejected due to the flaws in the documents submitted. As soon as the flaws are removed, the application will be repeatedly considered, said Ruben Grdzelyan, Spokesman for the General Department of Civil Aviation.
To recall, on October 23, Crimean Minister of Transport Anatoly Tsurkin said that Grozny-Avia would launch the Simferopol-Yerevan flights on November 16. Moreover, it was planned to make the flights on a regular basis - every Sunday.
