The Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) is still specifying issues related to holding of an extraordinary congress in early March. No specific decisions on the agenda or date of the congress have been taken yet, Vahan Babayan, MP from the PAP, has told ArmInfo's correspondent.
To note, Mikayel Melkumyan, another MP from the PAP, previously said that the congress is scheduled for March 5. The congress is expected to discuss the issue of the new chairman of the PAP, because Gagik Tsarukyan will be appointed honorary chairman of the party. The possible candidates for the PAP chairperson are Naira Zohrabyan, Stepan Margaryan and Vartan Oskanian. The congress will also determine the further tactics of the PAP actions.
Nevertheless, Babayan says that the PAP's decisions will be unexpected and will have nothing to do with the rumors currently circulating in the political field.
The MP also says he does not know whether Gagik Tsarukyan's Kentron TV channel has a new owner. According to media reports, the new owners of Kentron TV will remodel it into the Eurasian Economic Union TV channel in Armenia. All the portals affiliated with the PAP will reportedly be closed, because Tsarukyan has stopped funding them.
To note, following the Armenian President's harsh criticism against Gagik Tsarukyan and after their "reconciliation", Tsarukyan found himself in disgrace and is going to give up politics, according to media reports.
