The NKR Defense Army has made a statement on misinformation disseminated by Baku. "The Azerbaijani propaganda is constantly looking for new ways to hide the failures of its own army," the NKR Defense Army says. "During the four-day war, the adversary disseminated misinformation about alleged 'liberation' of Mataghis and Talish villages. However, the Armenian and foreign journalists clearly saw the lie spread by Azerbaijan and its real face," the statement says. The source says the Azerbaijani propaganda also issued false reports that Armenian high-ranking officials were allegedly killed or seriously wounded. The NKR Defense Ministry recalls that long before the April developments the Azeri propaganda had managed 'to kill' Colonel Jalal Harutyunyan and during the military actions it also "killed" Lt.-Gen. Movses Hakobyan and other Armenian high-ranking servicemen. "Certainly, the 'deceased' servicemen's live speeches on the day after their so-called 'death' destroyed the Azerbaijani misinformation. But Azerbaijan did not come to its senses and on April 23 the Azeri propaganda machine disseminated misinformation that Colonel A.Melkumyan was severely wounded. Luckily, Melkumyan is safe and sound and is carrying out his duties conscientiously," the statement says, recalling that Azerbaijan also reported about alleged 'destruction' of an Armenian tank. The NKR Defense Ministry is surprised that when enumerating the crew of the tank, the Azeris forgot to name 'sniper' Nazeni Hovhannisyan. "The only thing that really relates to the Azerbaijani reports is that on April 23-24 the Azerbaijani armed forces really tried to destroy the NKR Defense Army armored vehicles deployed on the frontline, however, even by using SPIKE MR/LR, they gave a 100m miss," the statement says.
