A March of Peace, Unity and Solidarity will be held in Yerevan on 2 September at the initiative of Yeritasardutyun NGO (Youth NGO), Head of the Organization Gevorg Mkrtchyan told reporters, on 30 August.
He said the March will start from the Liberty Square at 6:30pm and head towards St. Sargis Church where a liturgy will be served in memory of the Armenian soldiers that sacrificed their lives on the Line of Contact with the Azerbaijani troops.
"The March will once again demonstrate that the Armenian people can struggle against internal and external challenges by combined efforts," he said. He said the event will promote the public- army relations, condemn crimes against humanity, particularly the massacre of Yazidis and other Christian minorities in Iraq.
He said the event is organized with the support of the Defense Ministry of Armenia and the Armenian Apostolic Church. The March will involve also representatives of the public and government sectors, peacekeepers and the music orchestra of the Defense Ministry, and the youth religious organizations. Archbishop Navasard Kochoyan of the Ararat Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church will serve the liturgy in memory of the Armenian martyrs. Mkrtchyan urges everyone to join the March to demonstrate the external and internal enemies that the Armenian people unite irrespective of their political views, gender and age, when the security of Armenia and Artsakh is endangered.
