The Office of the Ombudsperson of Armenia has disseminated a statement saying it has received complaints on mass detention of the citizens by the Police.
"There is information, the among the detained persons there are minors. The given information has not been confirmed at the moment. The Office of the Ombudsperson has launched the necessary measures on the basis of the complaints and reports received," the Office of the Ombudsperson says in the statement received by ArmInfo.
The Police dispersed the rally of the supports of Daredevils of Sasoun, an armed group that seized the Police Patrol Service Regiment on July 17 demanding release of jailed oppositionist Jirayr Sefilyan and resignation of the president. Activist Levon Barsegyan is among the detainees too.
