The members of the RA NA Armenia-US Friendship Group: The Head of the Friendship Group, the Head of the NA Civil Contract Faction Hayk Konjoryan, the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan, the Chair of the Standing Committee on European Integration Arman Yeghoyan, the Chair of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Tsovinar Vardanyan, the NA deputy Arsen Torosyan and the RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the USA Lilit Makunts met with the Co-chair of the Congressional Armenian Issues Caucus Frank Pallone and the member of the Congressional Armenian Issues Caucus Jim Costa in Washington on May 1.
As the Armenian Parliament reports, the Congressmen were interested in the peace agenda between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the regional developments. The Armenian Parliamentarians emphasized the U.S. support for the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Armenia.
The process of strengthening the economic resilience and democratic reforms of Armenia was discussed.
It was reported earlier that the United States of America allocated 65 million dollars to help Armenia. During the tripartite meeting held in Brussels on April 5, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that this aid exceeds the amount of financial aid provided two years ago by 50%. "We are committed to continue supporting Armenia's democratic and economic stability," Blinken emphasized.
