ArmInfo. The new challenges to existence and security that threaten the statehood of the Republic of Armenia, which are intensifying every day, are the result of the anti-state and anti-national policies of the current Armenian authorities. This is stated in the statement of the All-Armenian Council of Diplomats, adopted following the round table meeting.
The statement states that as a result of the defeatist and adventurist course of the current managers, Armenia found itself in a difficult situation, full of losses.
"In such conditions, when external factors mainly determine the international behavior and domestic agenda of Armenia, diplomacy inevitably becomes the main characteristic of defending statehood. To guarantee the existence of an independent, sovereign, integral and viable state, we propose a set of realistic solutions that will stop the endless chain unilateral concessions and at the same time will be understood by the main international players," the statement further said.
At the same time, Armenian diplomats proposed a number of urgent steps to bring Armenia out of this extremely difficult situation and prevent further irreversible losses.
In particular, Armenian diplomats are confident that it is necessary to implement fundamental changes in the foreign policy strategy with the adoption of a flexible policy of containment, and in parallel, consider the formation of natural and situational alliances as a real mechanism to counterbalance the Azerbaijani- Turkish tandem.
"In addition, in order to establish a lasting and stable peace in the region, it is a priority to reintroduce the issue of Artsakh into the agenda of Armenia's foreign policy. The responsibility of the Republic of Armenia is to ensure the inalienable right of the people of Artsakh to return to their homeland, the immediate release of all prisoners of war and hostages, as well as ensuring the integrity of the Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage in Artsakh, as provided for by collective and international guarantees.
Moreover, the delimitation and demarcation process must be based on the fundamental principles of international law and accepted practice. In particular, firstly, do not allow any agreement reached through the use of force, its threat or coercion. Secondly, nothing is agreed upon until everything is agreed upon. "At the same time, any retreat or change of position of the Armenian armed forces must be excluded until the completion of the full process of delimitation and demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border," the statement said.
Diplomats are also confident that a new formulation of pan-Armenianism is vital to overcome the national crisis, and the only way to achieve this is to consider the issue of consolidating pan-Armenian potential, internal reconciliation and solidarity.
"In this matter, the irreplaceable leadership and active role of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church, pan- Armenian structures and legal bodies of the Republic of Artsakh are undeniable.
In order to confront the above-mentioned challenges and solve existing problems, the Republic of Armenia urgently needs the formation of a qualitatively new government through the consolidation of all national forces, which will assume a clear commitment and responsibility for lasting stability and dignified peace in the region," the Pan-Armenian Council said in a statement on April 29.
