ArmInfo.The new aggravation between Armenia and Azerbaijan directly depends on how much official  Yerevan will allow the EU, USA and Britain to destructively influence the situation in the region as a whole and between the two countries, the Russian foreign ministry spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, stated. 

At the same time, the Russian diplomat expressed confidence that a  "road map" has already been formed to destroy the socio-economic  well-being of Armenia and military-political destabilization.  Zakharova came to this conclusion after studying the provisions of  the report "Deepening EU-Armenia relations: More Europe in Armenia;  More Armenia in Europe," prepared by the Friends of Armenia Network,  led by former Prime Minister of Denmark and former NATO Secretary  General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.

"Why does NATO need this? In order to completely take control of the  situation inside, and then - if they succeed - through Armenia to  destabilize the situation in the entire region," Zakharova said. She  further spoke about the economic benefits to Armenia from Russia and  the EAEU.

The Russian diplomat also touched upon the statements of the Armenian  authorities about the need to give up villages in the Tavush region  of the Republic of Armenia. "The Armenian authorities are now saying  that now some more villages need to be given back. Can I ask a  question in this regard? And they definitely will not forget that  these decisions, which they promote as no alternative, they make  independently or under the influence of NATO curators, and that our  country has nothing to do with it, just as the CSTO has nothing to do  with it," emphasized the official representative of the Russian  Foreign Ministry. In this vein, she recalled what happened with  Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to her, at first, it was under the influence of NATO and  the EU, as well as Washington, that they promoted the idea of  official Yerevan renouncing ties with Nagorno-Karabakh.

"It was the NATO members who forced official Yerevan to do this. In  the document signed by official Yerevan under the dictation of NATO,  there was not a word about the rights and safety of the Karabakh  people. After which the discouraged, deceived people of Karabakh, the  residents of Karabakh began to ask questions to official Yerevan. And  what did he answer? "He answered that all this is because of Russia  and the CSTO. They don't explain why they are to blame, they just  endlessly say that only the Russian Federation and the CSTO are to  blame," the Russian diplomat noted, adding that in reality everything  is not so.

She called these accusations outright lies. "I accuse of lies all  those who promote the thesis of the guilt of Russia and the CSTO for  the decisions taken by Yerevan on Nagorno-Karabakh. All those who  profess and disseminate this idea. This is not true, this is a lie.  Official Yerevan made this decision after consultations with the West  ". Therefore, the main thing is that when they manage other villages  and territories today, they themselves were responsible for their  decisions and did not blame anyone for their own mistakes. And I hope  that no fatal mistakes will be made," the diplomat added. In this  vein, she recalled the large number of personal efforts made by the  Russian President to prevent bloodshed, prevent escalation, and save  the Armenian people.

Zakharova once again warned Yerevan against fatal mistakes. "The most  important thing is that they do not make their fatal mistake by  mixing up this terrible intrigue against their own interests,"  Zakharova said, adding that for NATO and the EU, Armenian territory  is a training ground for various maneuvers, including intelligence  gathering and military operations .
